Amy Barrett LCSW, ESMHL

My career as a therapist began in a school setting where I provided talk therapy as a “Youth Services Counselor”. I was also involved in the equine world, volunteering at a local farm offering therapeutic riding. In 2017, the opportunity presented itself to combine my two passions and become an equine assisted psychotherapist. I’ve never looked back!

In 2021, I opened Strides in Wellness, LLC and currently offer EAP services at Shepard Meadows Equestrian Center in Bristol; the same farm where it all began. My passion lies in working with children & adolescents struggling with major life changes, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and ADHD. One of my strengths is quickly developing rapport and building a trusting relationship. This allows clients to feel more confident, self-aware, and feel comfortable expressing themselves in a healthy way.

Qualifications: Masters in Social Work; Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning

On the weekends you'll find me:

Baking, traveling, being active, reading, eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and walking my dog, Sadie.
